Climate Recentered

The climate crisis is the affordability crisis; they are caused by the same systems.

Surrey BIPOC youth committed to climate justice & mutual aid, starting with building communities of care in our city.

We live, learn, and organize on the intersections of stolen, occupied, and traditional Kwantlen, Musqueam, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen, Qayqayt and Kwikwetlem territory.
(Whose land are you on?)

Colonial, racist, & capitalist systems of oppression are the cause of the climate crisis, and of every crisis that intersects it. Consider why (un)natural disasters hit our most marginalized neighbours the hardest? Who benefits from the high price of groceries?

The first step to tearing these systems down is to stop relying on them; We must be able to rely on each other instead.

With those who have historically been left out of the climate conversations, we’re laying the foundations of climate resilience through mutual aid.
